Rob Hookey

My name is Rob Hookey and I am a Waanyi, Ngadjon (Australian First Nations) man from Bindal, Wulgurukaba Country (Townsville, Australia) and I currently reside on Gadigal Land (Sydney, Australia).Growing up I was always creative and loved the mental and emotional processes that takes place when creating art. I have always enjoyed fashion. When I was a child I would go to my Grandmother's house and read her magazines and note the angles of the photos and the different silhouettes fashion houses used to design their pieces. I believe it was this early exposure to fashion that inspired me to do the work I do now; editorials and campaigns for magazines.Since beginning my photography journey in 2016, I have worked with fashion labels such as Camila and Liandra Swim. I have also worked with department stores such as David Jones and The Iconic. I have had the privilege of working with industry leading modelling agencies, such as Chadwicks Models Australia, IMG, Wilhelmina and Next Models in Sydney, New York, London, Paris and LA. I look forward to what the future holds for me as a creative and the art that will be made as a result.
