Passionate about storytelling, Emma is a digital native who covers beats ranging from pop culture, the arts, fashion and the environment. A Malaysian-born immigrant, she graduated from Curtin University in 2020 with First Class Honours, submitting her thesis on post-colonial discourses within the Harry Potter book series. She began her career as a freelance writer with words in Pedestrian TV, Lifehacker, Fashion Journal and Zee Feed, to name a few. Knowing she had to make writing her entire life, she became a full-time journalist at the National Indigenous Times. She loves her labradoodle, taking afternoon naps, snorkelling the Perth surrounds and watching terribly bad reality TV.
